Today we made Tessellations, which are repeated shapes. We started with a square, drew and cut out a shape on two sides and slide them to the opposite sides. Once the shape was completed we traced it to see if it formed a repeated pattern. Some students made their tesselations into animals and people. Others just colored the pattern. If the treats weren't enough, the boys basketball team had a handful of wonderful things to say about the Valentines Party. Everything was great, the games, the activities in the classroom, hanging out with your pen pal, having your photo taken, and the wonderful treats. You couldn't have asked for a better Valentines party.

Yesterday was a busy day. Besides having classes in the morning we had to get ready for our Valentines Party in the afternoon. But it was worth it. We had a great time. All our pen pals came except for Adam W. who was sick and Jeremy who was in Hawaii. We were challenged to a scooter kick ball game by Mrs. Schmidt's class and the girls basketball team and won. Everyone played hard. After the game we came back to class and had treats and opened our valentines.

Today in math we are studying area and perimeter.
In reading we finished Chapter 12 of "Witch Of Blackbird Pond." Manuel thinks that Kit is going to marry Nat but Danny thinks that Kit will marry William. Jasmine thinks that William and Nat aren't going to get along too well. Conner thinks that Kit will move in with Hannah on Blackbird Pond because Kit does not get along with her uncle.
We also had a special luncheon today that Jasmine, Yuli and Gisela attended by turning in 10 cougar coupons. They got to eat on real plates with real silverware. WOW!!!
DON'T FORGET YOUR VALENTINES TOMORROW!!!!

This is my first blog. I hope we can have someone add to it everyday to let absent students, parents and friends see what is happening in our class. Remember that tomorrow is our Valentines party with our high school pen pals. They will be coming around 12:30 and will be here until 2:00. Have a wonderful day.
